About short-path thin-film precision distillation.
Regarding "short-path thin-film precision distillation," which has become the mainstream technology for vacuum distillation globally.
Short-path distillation technology was thoroughly developed by Leybold AG in Germany in the 1950s by improving molecular distillation methods. It not only allows for a short average free path of vapor molecules but also enhances processing speed as a continuous process and enables high purity of the products. It is an excellent distillation process that has the capability to evaporate low-boiling substances in the liquid phase continuously in a single pass towards zero without going through a gas-liquid equilibrium state. The vapor of low-boiling substances is instantaneously condensed in a horizontal unidirectional flow, driven by the pressure difference between the evaporation surface and the condensation surface at any position on the evaporation wall. The vapor pressure decreases along the evaporation wall and is eliminated, completing the distillation process. Because it is a high-performance technology, it reaches a level where performance guarantees are possible, maximizing the recovery rate of fractions, and the residue product is highly purified. Depending on the physical properties of the product, the impurity content can be reduced to the ppm range, allowing it to be referred to as short-path thin-film precision distillation. In the United States, short-path distillation equipment manufactured by UIC and VTA companies has been delivered in large numbers as cutting-edge technology. *For more details, please check the detailed materials available for PDF download.
